Young Heroes Scholarship Application

Since its founding, Sanctuary has had a passion for pouring into and enriching the lives of our young people. This calling has persevered and been made manifest throughout the years in many ways, one of which being the Young Heroes Scholarship. Named after the founding Pastor of the Sanctuary Covenant Church (SCC), Pastor Efrem Smith, and his wife Donecia, we will be awarding Financial Scholarships to graduating high school seniors. Efrem and Donecia believed that every student could be empowered in their God-given capacity to be a Young Hero and change the world for good.

We are pleased to offer financial scholarships to students who will be enrolled in a higher education institution during the 2026-2027 school year. Awarded scholarships will be paid directly to the academic institution upon proof of enrollment for the 2026-2027 school year.

Scholarship Eligibility Requirements:

Graduating Senior from North High, Camden High, or a Member/regular attender of Sanctuary Covenant Church (SCC)
Must have a 2.5 GPA or higher
Attending a 2 or 4 year College in the 2026-2027 School Year
An official High School Transcript
One Letter of Recommendation from SCC Ministry Leader or another spiritual mentor under whom you’ve served, attended a ministry, or been discipled.
One Letter of Recommendation from a Staff Member of your graduating high school
Participated in volunteer service in the community, school, or church
Completed and submitted Application by June 1st 2026
